Is it safe to put polished stones/Tumbled stones in a fish aqaurium?

Will polished stones in an aqaurium hurt your fish? I don't mean stones that were polished with a polish or chemical.I'm talking about stones that were made smooth in a rock tumbler.Thanks for all that contribute
