Can someone sit for the PCAT exam and go straight into a Pharmacy school without completing the prerequisites?

I went through the syllabus and a lot of questions from several PCAT preparation books. I am confident that I can do good but I am not aware of the entire system. I am currently doing my prerequisites. So will I be able to give the exam? Even if I do good, will I still need to complete the prerequisites?
